Latitudie is the most complete Google Latitude client for iPhone and iPad! And it even runs in the background!

Wanna keep your friends updated on your position? Would you like to see your friends positions in real time? Or what about your phone telling you when that friend you havent seen in a long time is around the corner? Forget about making phone calls just for asking your friends where they are and start saving money! Just let Latitudie run in background and it will update your location as you move. Its never been that easy!

- Update your position, manually or automatically
- Access and edit your location history
- Temporarily hide your location
- See your history on a map and replay it
- Track and manage your friends
- Invite new friends to use Latitude

When running in the background, Latitudie will let you decide if want it to update your position when only you move, in order to save battery power.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Latitudie is not affiliated with Google Inc.

Pros and cons of Latitudie app for iPhone and iPad

Latitudie app good for

After about ready to dump my iPhone, finally I can use Google Latitude. It works exactly as it should, sending the position. Couldnt ask for more.
Fiam has provided exactly what I was looking for (almost). If youre looking for an app that will update your location in the background this is the app you are looking for hands-down. Be sure that you have a phone capable of multi-tasking before you decide to purchase this based on an ability to run in the background. Fiam has already updated this app with an approved new version that gives several more options as to how you would like your location updated (or hidden). I trust that he is planning on giving further improvements based on the support hes provided so far on his site. 4 stars for an app that gives me every option I could ask for but just the one (the ability to manually set an update interval). Also, please do not expect this app to show you your friends as that is not allowed through the legalities and restrictions of the Latitude API (think about it - it makes sense).
This app started out very broken, I had many problems. All issues seem to finally be resolved. Everything now works great! Kudos to the dev!
Not sure why this app has poor ratings. Way better than the default latitude app which is totally inaccurate and doesnt support configurable update intervals. 2 wishes: an update interval between 1 and 5 minutes and a cache mode so that updates during times of no cell reception are cached and sent when possible. Thanks!
The 2.0 update is excellent... even using GPS updates in the background (until iOS 4.2 comes out and resolves tower switch notification issues) seems to be more battery efficient than previous versions, and it updates Latitude on the interval like clockwork. Beyond that, Alberto has been very keen on answering questions... and good customer support goes a long way.
So some of the reviews on this app arent fair because it seems the people dont understand how Google latitude works and how iOS background location works. I downloaded the app this morning and used it as I walked around Boston for the day. The apps works EXACTLY as advertised. It is great. It will update your location on Google Latitude when you change positions. This is based off of the baseband connecting to cell towers. It is not based off of a certain time limit, and shouldnt be. It updates as you move and only when you move. Perfect for saving battery life. For the people saying it updates every second, I do see that happening but that is only happening when you have the actual app open. That is something that the developer needs to look into. When the app is running in the background, it works perfect! Some other improvements i think would make this app a top contender is really to just address the every second update when the app is open, and to also just incorporate a friends map. Basically it would really be nice to see my friends locations in the app instead of having to use the Google Latitude web app. Fix those two things and its a winner. So happy that I found this app. I will be recommending it to all my friends! UPDATED FOR V2 the crashes are fixed now. Seems to run great and updates in the background. I still want the blue accuracy circles around friends and the ability to cycle through friends in the friend map mode like how the latitude web app does. Other then that solid update!

Some bad moments

its realy steal robery this app does not exist or work shame on apple to let this on his appstore whithout control
Its not worth the money! Not working properly! Waiting for an update...
Hopefully Alberto reads this comments ... (hence in english) For me this application is nearly useless because: - Dramatically drains battery when using background update. Even when not using GPS. My settings: 30 minutes, Update in backgound ON, Use GPS OFF. Arrow in the header, showing GPS is used, is ALWAYS ON. Even when application is pushed to the background. Takes about 30% of battery capacity when update interval is set to 1 minute,GPS on, and app runs 1,5h in the background. Not any GPS application of my iPhone takes this amount of capacity in this timespan. - When all background options are switched off the app still drains battery more than before. Sitting in one place for 9 hours takes 15% of battery. I didnt had these battery draining problems before the install of Latitudie. Alberto, please change the program so it gets worthy. And if iOS 4.1 is the problem COMMUNICATE it. There is no definite statement on your "support" page what the problem is, even though many users seem to have these problems, regarding the comments here.
The software does not work on 3. .. and later. I ask für refunding
